In Dover Big Local’s first phase projects such as Co-Innovation, a small business development project, and Self employment training were highly successful. As we move into Dover Big Local’s second decade we are pleased to see these projects take off under their own management as intended.

Employment training continues to be important to local residents and has bith economic and welbeing benefits. We also remain involved in Destination Dover as a key initiative to market Dover as a visitor destination. Dover Big Local has been consulted on plans for the high street and business development plans for the town, and have been able to contribute the concerns and needs of our service users and hub visitors to future initiatives planning for Dover.

Destination Dover

Dover Big Local was a founder member of this partnership of organisations, local authorities, tourist attractions and companies that have worked together with an employed manager to raise Dover’s profile as a destination for visitors. Although our new funding regime means we cannot contribite at the level we once could financially, Dover Big local is pleased to still be included as a member and discuss local concerns, benefits and contributions as the initiative continues.
